Payroll Administrator

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee payroll operations for both unionized and non-unionized employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and provincial regulations. Responsibilities :

• Process bi-weekly payroll for salaried and unionized employees, ensuring timely and accurate calculations.
• Manage all aspects of payroll processing, including deductions, statutory requirements, and benefits contributions.
• Prepare and file T4s, ROEs, and other year-end payroll documentation while adhering to deadlines.
• Calculate and process EI contributions, pension deductions, union dues, and other payroll-related payments.
• Reconcile payroll data and submit payment details to the Accounts Payable department.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial payroll laws and regulations.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records with meticulous attention to detail.
• Address payroll inquiries from employees and internal stakeholders promptly.
• Support year-end reconciliation and reporting activities, including T4 preparation and validation.
• Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field.
• Proficiency in payroll software systems such as ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and Crystal Reports.
• Strong knowledge of payroll functions, benefit calculations, and statutory deductions.
• Familiarity with federal and provincial payroll legislation and compliance standards.
• Demonstrated ability to manage payroll for unionized and non-unionized employee groups.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing and record-keeping.
• Effective communication skills to address inquiries and collaborate with team members.
