Job description

This is a hybrid role in Vancouver .

Pay Range : $45 / hr - $60 / hr

Our first-party development studio is looking for a Cinematic Animator. Their team is comprised of deep creative and technical talent from across our industry and beyond, working cohesively to delight our fan base and pass expectations of what is possible. As a Senior Cinematic Animator, you will be working closely with the Director and Lead Animator to help push the boundaries and set the bar for cinematic next-gen animation in games.

THE CINEMATIC ANIMATOR'S RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Create character / creature motions through a blend of key-frame animation and motion capture.
  • Collaborate with Lead Cinematic Animator to implement the overall creative direction of our product.
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality body and facial animation assets with speed and accuracy.
  • Assignments may include animation tests, previs, layout, and final shot animation.
  • Assist with motion capture shoots and help define requirements.

EXPERIENCE :

  • 3 - 5 years of experience creating high-quality animation.
  • Experienced in key-frame and motion capture animation.
  • Have extensive experience animating realistic humans, especially facial animation.
  • Ability to deliver dramatic and believable character performances, as well as having a solid understanding of body mechanics, timing, weight, and composition.
  • Ability to be proactive, and help develop plans and make recommendations that will continually raise the quality bar for the animation team.
  • Experience using Maya (preferred) and MotionBuilder (considered a plus).
  • Technical understanding of animation tools, pipelines and technical systems is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, organized, creative problem solver and works well with a team.

    The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $45 / hr - $60 / hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location. Additional benefits offered may include; medical health insurance and dental insurance, life insurance, and eligibility to participate in 401k plan with a company match.
