We are seeking a detail-oriented and standalone Payroll Specialist to join our client in Scarborough, ON

Responsibilities
As a Payroll Specialist in Scarborough, ON, you will be responsible for the full-cycle payroll processing. Your key duties will include:

-Collect and verify timesheet data, then calculate wages, including overtime, bonuses, and deductions, to run payroll on time and accurately.
-Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a professional and efficient manner.
-Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs) as needed, and keep all payroll documentation organized and up to date.
-Administer payroll taxes and employee benefit payments, while tracking compensation details, such as pay rates, benefit changes, and new hire information.

Qualifications
-At least 1 year of experience in a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Administrator role, with a focus on Canadian payroll, particularly in Ontario.
-Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification from the National Payroll Institute (formerly The National Institute of Payroll) is an asset, or currently working toward certification.
-Solid understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and related regulations.
-Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experienced with ADP Workforce Now (WFN).
-Comfortable working fully onsite.
-Highly reliable with strong attention to detail.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills.
