Responsibilities

In this Payroll Specialist position located in Markham, you will be responsible for the following :

Process bi-weekly and weekly payroll for employees accurately and on time using Ceridian Dayforce.

Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accuracy of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off.

Calculate and process adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation elements.

Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements.

Generate payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs.

Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and earnings statements.

Collaborate with HR to onboard new employees and ensure accurate setup in the payroll system.

Assist with year-end payroll processes, including T4 preparation and distribution.

Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risk.

Continuously identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

In this Payroll Specialist position located in Markham, we are looking for :

PCP or PLP designation preferred.

Minimum 3 years of Canadian payroll experience is required.

Unionized payroll processing experience is required.

Strong knowledge and experience working with Ceridian Dayforce is a requirement.
