We are seeking an energetic, client-focused, detail-oriented Law Clerk with Assistant duties. The firm offers a collegial and flexible work environment.
The role will provide support in a number of areas, including :
- Assisting lawyers in drafting litigation documents, proofreading, and transcribing dictation;
- Inputting and tracking key dates for client files in accordance with firm policies and LSUC procedures;
- Serving and filing court documents;
- Booking court dates
- Proactively managing 2 (two) Lawyers calendar and timelines;
- Maintaining current knowledge of court protocols and practice directions;
- Working closely with Accounting Manager for opening and closing of client files;
- Performing administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, and providing reception duties;
- Assisting lawyers and following their directions in a timely and professional manner;
- Sending and collecting mail, banking, scanning, photocopying and filing
- Maintain positive client relations and communication;
- Coordinating with Accounting Manager to respond to inquiries on billing / budgets.
- Meeting annual law clerk target hours
- Maintaining and auditing of client file organizations in adherence with LSUC bylaws
Required experience and skills :
Minimum 3 years of experience as a legal assistant / clerk;Minimum 2 years of experience in litigation;Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure;Proficiency with Microsoft toolsCompletion of Law Clerk program or equivalent degree or diplomaWe look forward to hearing from you if :
