We’re looking for an experienced Grocery Department Manager to take ownership of a fast-moving grocery department within a retail environment. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, balancing team management, inventory execution, and a strong customer experience.

Key Responsibilities - Run the day-to-day operations of the grocery department, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and product rotation
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular checks, audits, and reporting
- Lead, train, and support grocery team members to ensure strong performance and engagement
- Set clear expectations around service, food safety, and operational standards
- Ensure the department is well-organized, clean, and customer-ready at all times
- Manage product dating, markdowns, and recalls in line with food safety requirements
- Partner with store leadership on promotions, merchandising, and new product rollouts
- Step into Manager-on-Duty responsibilities as needed to support store operations
Key Qualifications - Previous experience managing a grocery or retail department
- Strong understanding of grocery operations, inventory flow, and food safety practices
- Confident people leader with the ability to coach and motivate a team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Experience using inventory and POS systems
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
Physical & Work Environment
- On-your-feet role requiring standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Regular bending, reaching, and movement between sales floor, backroom, coolers, and freezers
- Mix of hands-on floor work and administrative tasks such as scheduling and reporting
