The Opportunity

\>WSP’s Property & Building M&E Team is currently seeking an Electrical Designer, Buildings M&E to join our Electrical team, located at Toronto and Thornhill office. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, the Electrical Designer will be responsible for various aspects of the design and drafting of electrical systems with AutoCAD, and Revit 3D modeling services on various Property & Buildings projects. The Electrical Designer would also be required to attend client sites to evaluate existing conditions, as well as review construction progress.

What you can expect to do here:

• Basic calculation, design, and installation details for electrical systems;
• Develop lighting layouts, luminaire schedules and lighting control schematics;
• Develop power distribution layouts and sizing of electrical equipment;
• Preparing AutoCAD drawings and Revit 3D modeling for electrical systems;
• Learning building electrical engineering requirements, exposure to Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and CSA standards for building and site design;
• Perform individually or as a team member, under direct supervision of engineers and project managers;
• Other duties as assigned/required

What you’ll bring to WSP:

• Degree from an Electrical Engineering program;
• Ability to work independently or as a team member to deliver comprehensive design and meet the deadlines;
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit 3D;
• Interpersonal skills with team members and other engineering disciplines;
• Enthusiastic, eager to learn, detail oriented, organized, hard worker, and team player attitude;
• Verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
