As a Senior Manager - Purchasing and Inventory you will manage all purchasing and inventory activities including management of inventory for the company.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with inventory control, sales, engineering to develop metrics for gauging inventory levels needs and then maintaining those levels year over year.Manages profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow moving stock to help offset write offs.Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships, optimize inventory levels and increase service levels while reducing carrying costs.Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all buyers are meeting performance standardsConducts performance evaluationsHandles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policyPurchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company as neededMaintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordinglyMaintains inventory databasesNegotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery timesManages and reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policiesCollaborates with sales, customer service, operations and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control departmentCommunicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of saleDevelops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflowQualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Related Field required.10 years required, 15 years preferred of relevant experience.6 years required, 8 years preferred of ERP Inventory Management Software experience.Strategic and Optimized inventoryAnalytical data with robust KPI’sProficient in ExcelLean BackgroundOutstanding communication and interpersonal skillsStrong Knowledge of Supply Chain Distribution Channel
