The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for heritage preservation, and experience in managing diverse organizational functions. This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact in the field of historical preservation, community engagement, project management and cultural stewardship.Key Responsibilities : Accounting, Legal, and Administrative Management : Oversee the financial health of the Foundation, including budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards; Ensure proper legal andregulatory compliance in all Foundation activities; Manage day-to-day administrative operations, including overseeing staff, policies, and procedures.Event Planning and Stakeholder Management : Lead the planning and execution of Foundation events, including fundraising campaigns, public programs, and community outreach; Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, cultural organizations, and local government officials; Represent the Foundation at public events, conferences, and in meetings with key stakeholders.Building Management : Oversee the care, maintenance, and management of the Basilica and its grounds, ensuring the property remains a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for visitors; Work closely with architects, contractors, and preservation experts to maintain the building's historical integrity while ensuring it meets modern operational needs.Work with the Board to develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to secure financial support for ongoing preservation efforts, programming, and events; Cultivate relationshipswith individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant-making organizations; Organize and oversee fundraising events and campaigns to promote the Foundation's mission.Historical and Cultural Profile and Preservation : Serve as a passionate advocate for the Basilica's historical, architectural, and cultural significance, ensuring its preservation for future generations; Collaborate with historians, curators, and preservationists (as needed) to guide efforts related to the Basilica's historical documentation, conservation, and public education programs.Qualifications : Proven experience in nonprofit management, with a strong background in accounting, legal compliance, and administrative functions.Demonstrated success in event planning, stakeholder relations, and community engagement.Experience in managing historic properties or cultural institutions is an asset.Strong fundraising skills, with a track record of securing grants, sponsorships, and donations.Knowledge and passion for history, architecture, and cultural preservation.Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff and volunteers.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.Excellent communications skills (written and verbal).Why Join Us?As the Executive Director of the Basilica Heritage Foundation, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding a key part of our region's heritage while ensuring its continued cultural relevance.
