Job Description

We are currently seeking a Security / Scale Operator to join our team of skilled professionals based at our Calgary AB location. This state-of-the-art manufacturing plant produces premium asphalt roofing shingles in a high speed continuous manufacturing process environment.

Key Responsibilities :

• Continuously check the Security system and the gate / area monitors to ensure that the security of the IKO premises is not compromised
• Print the necessary scale tickets bills of lading and custom papers for Truck Drivers. Obtain the necessary signatures and forward copies to the billing department
• Scaling in and out trucks
• Refuse to release any unsafe load and report the matter to the Shipping Supervisor or HSE Business Partner immediately
• Direct carriers to appropriate loading docks / places
• Communicate with Shippers the waiting time of carriers and control road traffic
• Carry out Security rounds as scheduled completing the required record and checks
• Maintain various tracking documents and shipment logs
• Prepare customs documents for Canada and overseas
• Maintain and order supplies for shipping office
• Communicate with Order Center on problems surrounding out-bound pick-lists
• Conduct hourly checks of all fire heaters within the facility and correct deficiencies.
• Conduct security patrols around the facility checkpoints.
• During down times will help with shipping and receiving tasks as assigned.
• Other Duties as assigned
