WHO WE ARE
ONE KIDS PLACE Childrens Treatment Centre provides rehabilitation and related support services for children and youth (up to the age of 19) and their families living in the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound. All staff will provide service within an interdisciplinary team environment committed to family-centered practice.

POSITION SUMMARY:The Physiotherapist provides assessment, consultation, clinical diagnosis and treatment planning to assist children and youth to achieve their optimum rehabilitation potential in all areas of physical function including the prevention/delay of physical dysfunction and injury. Note that supervision of therapy assistants and family education are important components of the position.



JOB DUTIES:

  • Reports directly to the designated Manager for overall direction and supervision.
  • Provides quality family-centred care through assessment, establishing a clinical diagnosis and treatment programs to assist children/youth in achieving their maximal functional ability.
  • Documents client-related activities and workload practices according to Childrens Treatment Centre and College standards.
  • Utilizes therapeutic techniques/modalities as necessary in the provision of therapy and maintains client confidentiality and privacy.
  • Communicates effectively and ensures continuity of care by making treatment decisions in close collaboration with the child/youth/family, other rehabilitation staff and other community service providers as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
  • Educates the child/youth, family and other caregivers in the condition/disease process and specific treatment/intervention suggestions to ensure appropriate follow-through of daily activities and programs. The focus may be prevention, maintenance and/or treatment for the child/youth and family.
  • Provides clinical supervision within the disciplines scope of practice to designated support personnel and/or placement students.
  • Provides equipment recommendations / prescriptions and/or refers children/youth to appropriate services.
  • Acts as a resource/educator for the children/youth, families, staff, students, professionals and communities through the facilitation, development and implementation of education programs.
  • Participates in the orientation and training of new staff members, placement students and/or volunteers.
  • Pursues on-going professional development and growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
  • 2 years recent related work experience in a pediatric/health care setting with children and youth with special needs
  • Working knowledge of community resources and supports within the Districts of Muskoka, Nipissing and Parry Sound
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills/Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Ontario drivers license and reliable vehicle
  • Computer competency and adaptable in the use of computer software for the purpose of assessments, documentation, programming and communication.
  • Good attendance/Work Record
  • Bilingualism (English/French)/ADP authorizer are preferred
  • Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

COMPENSATION:$41.13 - $51.58 hourly(depending on prior experience as per our Collective Agreement).

SOMMAIRE DU POSTE : Le physiothrapeute offre des services dvaluation, de consultation, de diagnostic clinique et de planification du traitement afin daider les enfants et les jeunes bnficier dune radaptation optimale dans tous les domaines des capacits physiques, y compris la prvention ou le report des dysfonctionnements physiques et des blessures. Le ou la titulaire du poste supervise le travail dassistants en thrapie et offre de la formation aux familles.


FONCTIONS DU POSTE :

  • Relve directement du responsable dsign pour la direction et la supervision gnrales.
  • Offre des soins de qualit axs sur la famille grce une valuation, l'tablissement d'un diagnostic clinique et des programmes de traitement visant aider les enfants et les jeunes atteindre leur capacit fonctionnelle maximale.
  • Documente les activits lies aux clients et les pratiques de charge de travail conformment aux normes du Centre de traitement pour enfants et du Collge.
  • Utilise les techniques/modalits thrapeutiques ncessaires dans le cadre de la thrapie et maintient la confidentialit et la vie prive du client.
  • Communique efficacement et assure la continuit des soins en prenant des dcisions de traitement en troite collaboration avec l'enfant/le jeune/la famille, les autres membres du personnel de radaptation et les autres fournisseurs de services communautaires dans le cadre d'une quipe interdisciplinaire.
  • Sensibilise l'enfant/le jeune, sa famille et les autres personnes qui en prennent soin la maladie/ l'volution de celle-ci, ainsi qu'aux suggestions de traitement/intervention spcifiques, afin d'assurer le bon droulement des activits et programmes quotidiens. L'accent peut tre mis sur la prvention, le maintien et/ou le traitement de l'enfant/du jeune et de sa famille.
  • Assure la supervision clinique, dans le cadre de la pratique de la discipline, du personnel de soutien dsign et/ou des tudiants en stage.
  • Fournit des recommandations/prescriptions d'quipement et/ou oriente les enfants/jeunes vers les services appropris.
  • Agit comme ressource/ducateur auprs des enfants/jeunes, des familles, du personnel, des tudiants, des professionnels et des communauts par le biais de la facilitation, du dveloppement et de la mise en uvre de programmes ducatifs.
  • Participe l'accueil et la formation des nouveaux membres du personnel, des tudiants en stage et/ou des bnvoles.
  • Poursuit un dveloppement et une progression professionnels continus.
  • Autres tches assignes.


QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Diplme en physiothrapie
  • Inscription en rgle auprs de lOrdre des physiothrapeutes de lOntario
  • Deux annes dexprience de travail pertinente dans un contexte pdiatrique ou de soins de sant, auprs des enfants et des jeunes ayant des besoins particuliers
  • Connaissance pratique des ressources et des soutiens communautaires dans les districts de Muskoka, Nipissing et Parry Sound
  • Excellentes comptences de relations interpersonnelles, dorganisation et de communication verbale et crite
  • Permis de conduire de lOntario en vigueur et vhicule fiable
  • Matrise de lutilisation de logiciels et capacit de sadapter pour effectuer des valuations, prparer des documents, effectuer de la programmation et communiquer.
  • Bons antcdents professionnels et assiduit au travail
  • Le bilinguisme (franais/anglais) et le statut dautorisateur du PAAF sont prfr
