Key Responsibilities :
- Monitor food production, ensuring the food is of the highest quality and ready to be served to the guest at the appropriate time.
- Keep food waste to a minimum through ensuring proper rotation, labeling, and storing of food.
- Coordinate activities and training of cooks
- Assist in monitoring labor levels
- Organize, oversee, and participate in the plating of food for service, according to established plating and presentation criteria.
- Ensure proper safety and sanitation of all kitchen facilities and equipment
- Have the knowledge of Ontario health rules, regulations, and food handling.
- Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies.
- Responsible for the kitchen operation in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Qualifications :
Ability to adapt to changing demands as related to a banquet kitchenMinimum 2 years of Banquet Kitchen experience.Four years of related culinary supervisory experience in a fast-paced production-oriented environmentDegree in Culinary Arts preferredPossess strong leadership, communication, organization, and relationship skillsCapable of producing a consistent product in a timely mannerStrong training and communication skillsSchedule flexibility preferredMust be authorized to work in CanadaPhysical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to) :
Constant standing and walking throughout shiftFrequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lb.Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, liftingFrequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
