About the Role
As the Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the financial reporting and analysis for a multi-family real estate portfolio of investment funds. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, you'll work closely with several departments, including Corporate Finance, Asset Management, and Property Accounting, as well as third-party partners. Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting : Prepare monthly financial reports for various levels of management, including senior management, property management, and asset management. Provide insights into forecasting, variances, and operational key performance metrics.External Reporting : Manage quarterly and annual external stakeholder financial reporting, including MD&A, property packages, and asset management reports.Forecasting & NAV Analysis : Conduct portfolio-level forecasting, fund performance analysis, and Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, including distributions and commission calculations.Collaboration : Assist with the annual budgeting process and coordinate with various stakeholders. Collaborate with departments to reforecast budgets quarterly and assist in preparing board-level reporting and presentations.Market Research : Support strategic decisions by researching submarkets and providing recommendations on rent pricing, parking, storage, and other amenities.M&A Support : Assist with M&A, refinancing, and other transactions, including due diligence activities.Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role is someone who is genuinely curious and motivated to grow. We are looking for a professional who :
Holds an undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.Has a CPA designation with 4+ years of relevant experience.Has experience in real estate or asset management (preferred but not required).Possesses advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and is familiar with ERP systems like Yardi.Demonstrates a solid understanding of financial statements, NAV, IRR, ROIC, and IFRS accounting principles.Has excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams at all levels.Can manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.Success in the Role
