Automotive Apprentice Technician – Surrey, BC Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and document findings using Video Multi-Point Inspection (MPI)
Diagnose mechanical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
Clearly document problems and recommended repairs
Perform vehicle repairs and routine maintenance as assigned
Communicate repair status, concerns, and findings with Service Advisors
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times
Performance Measurables
Efficiency / Productivity
Hours billed and number of vehicles serviced
Comeback Rate
Percentage of repairs requiring rework due to errors or customer concerns
Time to Repair
Time taken from diagnosis through repair completion
Training & Certification
Progress toward technical training and ability to work on newer vehicles and systems
Customer Satisfaction
Quality of workmanship and overall customer experience in the service department
Compensation
Hourly wage range : $20.00 – $28.00 per hour
Final rate based on skills, experience, training, and overall qualifications
Compensation range provided as a guideline and may vary by candidate
What We’re Looking For
Currently beginning formal schooling toward Red Seal Automotive Service Technician certification
Valid Class 5 driver’s license
1–2 years of hands-on automotive repair or service experience
Strong willingness to learn, develop skills, and grow within the trade
Ability to clearly explain automotive issues using simple, customer-friendly language
