Position : Finance & Accounting ManagerLocation : Greater Barrie Area - 100% on-siteJob Type : Full-time, permanentOur client in the Building Materials industry is seeking an experienced Finance & Accounting Manager to lead the financial operations of their organization. This role will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while managing a small team. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on approach to financial leadership, with a strong ability to analyze data, streamline processes, and support strategic decision-making.Key Responsibilities : - Oversee the daily operations of the finance and accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, working closely with department heads to monitor performance against budget and drive accountability.- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, legal, and regulatory requirements, including audit preparation and government reporting.- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions, cost control initiatives, and investment planning.- Manage cash flow, monitor working capital, and recommend strategies for financial efficiency and risk mitigation.- Supervise and develop a small finance team by providing mentorship, setting clear goals, and evaluating performance.- Coordinate with external partners such as auditors, financial institutions, and tax advisors.- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.Qualifications : - Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation or equivalent is preferred.- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position.- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is an asset.- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.Please send your resume in Word format to Misha Ishaq at misha.ishaq@quantum.ca.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
