Our client, a leading construction group in the commercial sector, is looking for a General Superintendent in Edmonton, AB. The General Superintendent directly supervises superintendents, foremen & field labor force, including laborers / craft workers. This position must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

Responsibilities
Coach and Mentor the on-site supervision of field labor force including forepersons, lead hands, and other construction related personnelAssist Project Managers in the supervision and responsibility of the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule (weather)Assist with providing technical assistance (interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protectionInspection of Contractor and Sub-Contract operations to ensure compliance with ContractMaintain good relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner, Architect / Engineer, trade partners, and the community at large.Assist in the development of and maintenance of site logistics plans, in coordination with Superintendent and Project ManagerConduct site reviews of Quality Assurance & Controls program, Conduct quality inspectionsReview site testing and inspection effortsReview project costs, including labor and material regularly with Superintendents; mentor improvementsCommunication and enforcement of Health and Safety ProgramManage schedules, including supporting the LPSEnsure the preparation of and submission of Superintendent’s Daily Reporting requirements that document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress and conditions impacting the project, etc., complete reviews and corrective action accordinglyAttend and participate in key or critical project meetings as requiredProviding mentoring and coaching to support field superintendents.Qualifications
Journeyperson trade certification.Technical diploma and / or Gold Seal certification are considered assets.Experience in the management of commercial construction projects.Ten or more years of commercial construction experienceAble to travel out of townSummary
