This position includes work on a range of projects involving tailings and mine waste, coal combustion residuals (CCR), legacy contamination, and other multi-media environments.

The person in this position will use expertise in development and implementation of material and waste characterization methods and geochemical models to assess acid rock drainage / metal leaching, mineral solubility, water and chemical balances, and water quality.

Technical responsibilities will include leading geochemical assessments, design and management of complex data collection programs, and senior review of discipline-based work packages, as well as preparation of technical reports and supporting documentation.

Project responsibilities will include development of discipline-based scopes of work, schedules, and budgets and management and administration of that work.

Experience with mineralogical characterization methods, instrumentation, analysis, and interpretation and knowledge of field and laboratory programs to characterize potential for acid rock drainage and metal leaching, including application of geochemical testing methods for prediction of water chemistry

Familiarity with mineral exploration methods, mine waste disposal methods, mineral processing methods, and mine and environmental regulations and policies

Extensive experience communicating technical results and uncertainties to diverse project stakeholders.

General understanding of statistical methods

Legal authorization to work in Canada without the need for sponsorship from Barr, now or in the future
