Financial Analyst

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Analyst to join our team in Oshawa, Ontario. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a growing wholesale distribution company recognized for its innovation and commitment to operational excellence. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing financial data, supporting strategic decision-making, and driving business performance.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed financial reports and provide comprehensive analyses to support key decision-making processes.

• Develop and manage financial models to assist in forecasting and monitoring overall business performance.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to ensure financial accuracy.

• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to deliver actionable insights into financial and operational metrics.

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities with accuracy and efficiency.

• Conduct in-depth analyses of market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitor performance to guide strategic initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the implementation of best practices in financial reporting.

• Reconcile accounts and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Process invoices, manage billing activities, and maintain accurate data entry in financial systems.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks is an asset.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present findings effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR) is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial modeling tools and invoice processing workflows is an advantage.
