If the answer is yes, we invite you to explore this opportunity as Manager, Infectious Disease Epidemiology.

Reporting to the Director, Public Health Analytics, this position leads, manages, and coordinates the surveillance and evaluation of communicable disease and immunization activities in Alberta. The person in this position will be an expert advisor to the Office of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, Assistant Deputy Minister, and Executive Director, and represent Alberta on Federal / Provincial / Territorial committees related to communicable disease and immunization surveillance activities.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Provide direction and leadership for communicable disease epidemiology and surveillance.
  • Lead vaccine preventable disease epidemiology and surveillance within Alberta.
  • Offer epidemiological leadership in the development of infection prevention and control strategies and initiatives.
  • Recommend communicable disease and immunization reporting requirements and information systems development.
  • Collaborate with local, provincial, and national stakeholders to ensure evidence is available to guide decision-making for communicable disease control and prevention.
