The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly self motivated and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our team of high-achievers. You are a professional with outstanding experience and / or training in Billing, Forecasting, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) ready to take the next step in your career. You will have the chance to grow and develop within one of Canada’s most prestigious advocacy law firms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the firm’s Budgeting, Billing, AP and AR processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoicing and collections.
  • Work closely with legal teams to streamline billing workflows and enhance client communication.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports to leadership, offering insights and recommendations.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and reporting.
  • Act as the Firm’s controller by identifying and implementing processes to improve and monitor financial efficiency.
  • Assist in budgeting, cash flow management, and financial forecasting.
  • Collaborate with leadership on financial strategies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • We are looking for outstanding candidates, with demonstrated achievement or great potential, who share our Firm’s vision of excellence and client service. Although we encourage all applications, the successful candidate will likely have either or both of :
  • 3+ years of relevant experience demonstrating your outstanding financial, organizational, and leadership skills in accounting and finance, preferably within a professional services firm;
  • Outstanding achievement in a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of financial processes, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills; experience with legal billing systems is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
