ABOUT THE ROLE
The WPE Purchasing Assistant is responsible for supporting the purchasing team, by understanding company purchasing policies and procedures, and maintaining strong supplier relationships. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and effective communication are essential to this role.

Essential Functions
- Maintain strong working relationships with our vendors
- Work in a team environment, in a high-urgency and fast-paced setting
- Assist with purchasing document management, including storage and organization in SharePoint, including the use of DocuSign
- Process jobsite material requests and issue purchase orders in collaboration with the purchaser
- Assist with purchase order maintenance, by processing change orders, invoice related reconciliations, and corrections to quantity, pricing or taxes
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Other duties as assigned
- Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
- Understand and comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other industry-specific professional and ethical conduct standards
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
2 - 3 years of experience in a relevant purchasing or procurement role2 - 3 years of industry specific experience (electrical supplier or relevant trades experience)Prior experience in using JD Edwards is an assetPrior experience in using DocuSign is an assetPreferred Education
High school diploma or GED is requiredPost-secondary education in a related field is an assetKnowledge / Skills / Abilities
Familiarity with procurement processes, software and vendor managementExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenStrong organizational skills and attention to detailEffective time management and ability to problem-solveProficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, SharePoint and WordProficiency in using Adobe AcrobatWHAT WE OFFER
Compensation & Benefits
Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.
