Job Description
The House of Commons’ Finance Services is currently looking to staff the Manager, Policy Services position.
As part of this role, you will be accountable for developing, recommending, communicating, interpreting and monitoring the implementation of a set of policies respecting the services, allowances and entitlements of Members and House Officers of the House of Commons and their staff. You will also be responsible for overseeing key policies of the House Administration’s integrated financial policy framework.
You will also be responsible to serve as a centre of excellence in providing expert policy interpretation and formulation advice and in assessing the policy implications of the House of Commons planning activities and strategic directions. The position is responsible for internal policy development plans and related documentation for the approval of the Clerk’s Management Group (CMG), the Clerk and / or the Board of Internal Economy (BOIE). Responsibilities require developing and maintaining harmonious and productive external and internal networks at all position levels which are critical to the successful development and implementation of policies and related programs.
In this role, you will leverage your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build consensus and acceptance of policy directions and goals. Your excellent planning and communications skills will enable you to lead your team in achieving the House of Commons' strategic objectives and priorities.
