Return of Service (ROS) : $10,000 to recent PSW graduates in exchange for a 12-month commitment to work full-time in a long-term care home or within the community.
Responsibilities
- Provide Personal Support Worker services in community care settings as part of a team.
- Support clients with activities of daily living, mobility, and personal care tasks as assigned.
- Collaborate with clinical practice and nursing teams to implement comprehensive care plans.
- Participate in orientation, mentorship, ongoing education, and professional development as offered by SE Health.
- Support clients while balancing personal schedule and care requirements.
Qualifications
Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW).RN or RPN, Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed), or Home Support Level 2 or 3 from a recognized curriculum.Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate; Foreign trained healthcare professional – Nurse (if applicable).Requirements
A valid driver’s license and vehicle to use for work daily is required.Immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus and Covid.Current Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).Current Standard CPR level C certificate.Availability to work days or evenings and every other weekend.Physically demanding position requiring hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, lifting up to ~55 pounds, walking, stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.PSW ROS Eligibility (New Graduates and Previous Graduates)
New Graduates : Complete an Ontario PSW training program meeting 2022 program standard; begin employment between April 1, 2024 and March 31, 2026; commit to 12 months of full-time employment.Previous Graduates (NEW) : Have previously trained as a PSW; not worked in direct care in the past 12 months; begin employment between November 18, 2024 and March 31, 2026; commit to 12 months of full-time employment.About SE Health
