Hardware Engineer

Jaza buildsthe batteries and charging systems control and monitoring systemsand integration hardware that underlies the infrastructure we useto power communities.
We currently have 150 hubs and 50000batteries in our fleet. We have product market fit in multiplemarkets. We are on the 3rd generation of hardware and are confidentin it but have a lot of ideas for improvements.
We can iterate andimprove functionality of the batteries battery chargers and hubenergy systems using over the air firmware updates.
The roadmapincludes incremental improvements to existing hardware designs aswell as brand new products. We are looking for help to build theworlds best battery systems.
The ElectricalEngineering Coop will play a critical role as the key contributorof electrical engineering and hardware design.
As a member of oursmall but capable engineering team you will report to Sr DesignEngineer and will work with the engineering and operational teamsto deliver on the companys mission.
You will be highly accountableto own your decisions your work and your outcomes but we willsupport you in training and onboarding to ensure yousucceed.
Responsibilities :
Theposition is fulltime for someone who will have the followingresponsibilities :
Contributeto design and development of new electrical engineering designs andsystem architectures
- Design anditerate PCBs for integration into new and existingsystems
- Build prototypes and testingsetups
- Test products from prototypesto mass production
- Analyze data andresults from testing and product deployments
- Research ideas and topics forimplementation in new products andservices
- Manage lab and testequipment and inventory
- Communicatefrequently and develop excellentdocumentation
- Work to understand theuser and how they use theproduct
Requirements :
Weare open to candidates from any background however we believe theminimum requirements to excel at this positionare :
Experience designinghardware and PCBs for massproduction
Excellentunderstanding of lithium ion battery packs and their protectioncircuitry power electronics DC power systems used for batterycharging analog measurements serialcommunications.
Experiencewith testing and qualityengineering
Embedded systemsand firmware development is aplus
Works effectively on asmall team greatcommunication
