Description of position
Looking for an analytical individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is capable of providing reliable, timely, and accurate information to perform various tasks, such as data analysis, account reconciliation, preparing the yearly and periodic budget, and leading and assisting with ad hoc requests within the payroll and / or finance department.
Daily tasks and responsibilities
- Prepares, analyses, and reconciles budgets.
- Prepares various financial and payroll analyses using a variety of programs such as Google Docs, Word, and Excel.
- Audits / reconciles, analyzes, and provides creative solutions / recommendations to resolve and clarify issues for large complex files / data using Excel or any other tools as it relates to Payroll and Finance.
- Uses in-depth technical knowledge of SAP, Employee Central, and Workforce Central and the complexities of a retroactive system, along with comprehensive payroll knowledge to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Communicates with third-party vendors, US payroll / Finance department, consultants, government, or other parties.
- Performs and coordinates internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Assists in the preparation of year-end remittances, 3
party vendors, while analyzing complex data.
Reconciliation of various payroll accounts and clearing outstanding items.Writes and verifies journal entries required to update the financial statements.Provides and ensures prompt, courteous, and accurate service / support to all locations.Helps monitor federal and provincial laws.Other administrative duties, special projects, tasks, and reports as requested.Maintains a high level of confidentiality.Non-essential functions and tasks
Assists in other areas as necessary.Typical schedule
May be required to work evenings and weekends based on the needs of the business.

Education / Training :
A college diploma or university degree in Commerce or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required .Specialization in an accounting-related field is requiredData analysis background or equivalent with mathematical abilities is preferred.Experience :
A minimum of two years of experience as an Analyst or equivalent is preferred.Experience in the Benefits, Payroll, or Human Resources field, is preferred.Accounting, finance, and analytical skills are preferred.Knowledge of Costco’s SAP, Employee Central, and Workforce Central systems, is preferred.Knowledge / Skills :
Advanced knowledge of Google Docs and Microsoft Office Suite is required. ( Candidates will be tested ).The ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision is required .Bilingualism writing and spoken (English and French), is required . ( Candidates will be tested ).Excellent interpersonal skills.Creative thinker with strong problem-solving. ( Candidates will be tested ).Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain thoroughness and accuracy while meeting deadlines.Strong time management and organizational skills, ability to rapidly change direction or priority while effectively prioritizing and meeting non-negotiable timelines.
