Job descriptionVarious locations Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy Drive lighter, special purpose trucks Load and unload goods Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment Perform brake adjustments Perform emergency roadside repairs Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle Perform preventive maintenance Receive and relay information to central dispatch Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Driver's License (Class 1 or A) Accident or incident reports Bill of lading Driver logbook Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip) Maintenance and repair reports Trans-border documentation Trip reports Tractor-trailer Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment Trip recorder (on-board computer) International Local Long-haul National Provincial / territorial Regional Short-haul Valid passport Basic security clearance Criminal record check Driver's validity licence check Driving record check (abstract) Drug test Medical exam Drive manual transmission vehicle Valid driver's licence Attention to detail Repetitive tasks Sitting Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) Cellular phone Efficient interpersonal skills Flexibility Judgement Organized Reliability Team player
