Job description

Introduction

The Manitoba Securities Commission is seeking to fill the position of Compliance Auditor.

Conditions of Employment :

  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Must provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Must be able to travel occasionally within the Province of Manitoba

Qualifications : Essential :

  • Completion of a professional accounting program or a suitable combination of related education, training and experience may be considered
  • Diverse audit experience including performing comprehensive financial, compliance and / or operational audits
  • Experience in applying Canadian auditing standards and accounting principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to compose a variety of documents
  • Strong analytical, research, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management skills including the ability in managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently as part of a team
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Desired :

  • Experience interpreting, explaining and applying legislation and regulations in a regulatory environment
  • Experience in, or knowledge of, the real estate and mortgage brokerage industries
  • Experience conducting investigations
  • Duties : Reporting to the Registrar, the Compliance Auditor is responsible for auditing registrants under The Real Estate Services Act and The Mortgage Brokers Act with the goal of ensuring they comply with applicable legislation and policies. The Compliance Auditor is required to perform compliance audits and finalize results, review financial reports, and conduct investigations that result from the completion of audits conducted on real estate or mortgage brokerages or other industry registrants.
