Job descriptionOperate heavy equipment safely and effectively to minimize injury, property damage, or loss of life. Follow all safety and maintenance procedures. Perform daily safety and maintenance checks. Clean equipment as scheduled. Ensure safe and secure storage of equipment. Advise Base Operations Supervisor of maintenance or repair needs. Participate in routine maintenance. Practice workplace safety. Maintain roads and transportation systems for safe roadway conditions. Maintain access to houses, water supply, and waste sites. Maintain easements. Perform seasonal maintenance on roads (pre‑winter, winter, spring, summer). Use equipment for snow removal and road leveling. Ensure proper drainage. Be honest and trustworthy. Show respect and cultural awareness. Be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics. Deal positively and courteously with the public. Adapt to changing responsibilities as the business evolves. Represent Copper Mountain’s culture and uphold a professional image. Accept seasonal hour fluctuations based on business volumes. Integrity, confidentiality, professional appearance, adherence to policies. Support core values and set an example for others. Organized, follow-through, adaptable to fast‑paced environments. Flexible schedule; able to work any hours. Prioritizes work‑life balance. Minimum 1 year experience with front end loaders, skid steers, or similar equipment. Willingness to obtain Class B CDL License. Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Valid U.S. driver’s license. Compliance with Copper Mountain Driver’s Standards. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical ability to operate under extreme cold. Minimum age 18. Use of mountain radio / walkie‑talkies for communication. Safe operation of single‑axle trucks, snow blowers, and related equipment. Client service and public interaction skills. Team building, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Effective verbal and written communication in English. Stress and time management skills.

Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation : Proposed hiring rate of $20.50 to $22.80+, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
- Benefits : Seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employees / dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Discount programs include food & beverage, retail / rental, tickets, etc.
Job Summary
The Equipment Operator Level 1 is responsible for operating heavy equipment safely, cleaning, maintaining, and securing equipment, and providing courteous service to residents and the public.
