Job description

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team.The Operational Improvement Specialist contributes to implementation of the Customer Service Operations Continuous Improvement Program in alignment with SaskEnergy’s mission, strategic objectives, and values. This position works in consultation with management and leadership throughout the division to evaluate key performance indicators, analyze business problems, develop recommendations, facilitate execution of improvements, apply change management principles, and evaluate benefits realized.

Position Details

Non-union - This position is permanent full time.

Key Accountabilities

Using recognized continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma), lead projects to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes and drive improvements to business performance throughout Customer Service Operations.

Develop and recommend divisional objectives and performance targets, facilitate department level improvement activities by working with management to identify business performance challenges, prioritize optimization initiatives, and implement sustainable improvements within Customer Service Operations.

Accountable for the development and presentation of analysis findings and business improvement recommendations to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and business cases.

Lead and guide cross-divisional teams to execute on specific improvements while retaining accountability for project schedule and results, ensuring a direct link between strategic initiatives and impacts to business key performance indicators, and the Corporate Strategy Map.

Using a collaborative approach, develop and coordinate activities and work plans across teams and departments on matters related to business performance analysis and improvement planning.

Determine appropriate analytical, financial, and statistical analysis methods and tools to evaluate and address business issues and opportunities.

Develop and implement comprehensive project plans with integrated approaches to stakeholder identification, resource planning, change management and risk management.

Lead the analysis of work processes, communication activities and management systems to identify root causes to complex business performance issues.

Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Degree and / or graduate degree, preferably in Business Administration, Sciences, Commerce, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Eight (8) years of progressive business experience, with a record of continuous improvement.

A professional designation (e.g., P.Eng, CPA, etc.) is an asset.

Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt (or higher), Project Management Professional (PMP) and ADKAR certifications are an asset.

Strong problem-solving capability : ability to interpret data and work with ambiguity, able to dive into details and engage meaningfully in big picture strategy.

Ability to understand complex systems, interdependencies, and related cause and effect.

A solid understanding and ability to apply outcomes measurement, data analysis and interpretation, measurement and evaluation planning, target setting, and improvement frameworks and methodologies.

Ability to effectively lead teams in the timely execution of project outcomes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and presenting ideas to stakeholders.

Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.

Additional Information

Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, may be required on occasion.

A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
