Job description

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Quantitative Research Analyst to join our Private Capital Investment Team. If you are keenly interested in how macro (top-down) forces drive returns across constantly evolving financial markets and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, then this is a great opportunity for you. Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do

  • Research and develop systematic macro signals in order to drive new investment insights
  • Backtest signals to ensure high performance efficacy
  • Automate the process for generating trades based on the signals developed
  • Ongoing monitoring of the efficacy of trades generated compared to expectations
  • Ad hoc research projects as appropriate
  • Assist in the creation of presentation materials as appropriate

What You Bring

  • Quantitative finance background with demonstrated programming skills
  • At a minimum, an undergraduate degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or statistics
  • Two to three years of relevant industry experience or graduate level studies / CFA designation would be an asset
  • Strong academic track record – with emphasis placed on quantitative courses
  • Experience leveraging machine learning would be valuable for the role
