Alberta Health Services (AHS) is looking for a dependable, highly motivated individual for the position of Environmental Services II (cleaner / housekeeper) dedicated to high‑quality work and safety.

Description

This casual position is located at the Leduc Community Hospital. The Environmental II position is responsible for routine and isolation cleaning protocols, disinfecting patient rooms, clinical spaces, common areas, floor maintenance and assigned medical equipment, and manual material handling on a daily basis within healthcare facilities, in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices. Work involves interaction with patients, staff and visitors. Non‑routine and deep cleaning tasks and use of powered industrial equipment are also required. Shift schedules may include a combination of day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Minimum Salary : $20.06

Maximum Salary : $21.93

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
• Knowledge and operation of a computer including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and perform repetitive movements for the duration of your shift.
• Physically capable of lifting, pushing and pulling up to 30 lbs of force.
• Minimum 1 year of previous experience performing environmental cleaning duties in a hospital or institution.
• Ability to operate a smartphone device and basic computer knowledge to access email.
• Read, write, speak, understand, and follow written and oral directions in English.
• Dependable, thorough, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work with chemical cleaners.
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs of force frequently.
• All new employees will be required to attend a 4‑day Environmental Services Orientation and a 1‑day AHS Orientation.
