Job Description

Position Purpose summary : The Warehouse Support Worker is responsible for receiving, inspecting, sorting, organizing, and distributing donated and purchased goods for The Salvation Army thrift operations. The role supports uninterrupted flow of merchandise from donation intake to the sales floor or shipping, while maintaining safety, organization, and excellent service to donors, guests and team members.

Key Accountabilities

Receiving & Shipping

• Receive and verify shipments and donations against records
• Inspect goods for quality, damage, and expiry (used by) dates
• Prepare, label, pack and stage items for internal transfer or shipment
• Load and unload trucks manually and using pallet jacks / dollies
• Load outgoing recycled goods (textiles, metals, e-waste, etc.) onto the truck for transfer
• Perform dump runs for waste or unsellable materials as directed
• Use warehouse management system, inventory management system to record, facilitate warehouse operations.

Critical Relationship Management

Internal : Management and staff. External : Donors, contractors.

Managerial / Technical Responsibilities

Reports directly to the Thrift Store Manager. Direct reports : None. Workflow coordinator.

Compensation

The target hiring range for this position is $17.85 to $20.64 with a maximum of $24.77. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
