Position Summary : The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for all day-to-day activities affecting the people, operations, and merchandise in their division. The Pharmacy Manager must also ensure the Pharmacy operates according to Walmart policy, professional standards, and provincial and federal regulations.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the Pharmacy and OTC teams, including participation in recruitment and interviewing of candidates, training all associates on OBWs / SOPs and Walmart workflow, and ensuring execution.
- Develop, assess, motivate, and retain team members. Promote Walmart's brand to team members and customers.
- Develop functional and collaborative relationships with the Professional Services District Manager, Store Management, and the Store Manager.
- Operate Pharmacy to achieve established plans and budgets; manage scheduling based on business needs; conduct ongoing associate assessments and periodic performance reviews.
- Develop and execute business action plans to meet corporate goals; develop corrective action plans based on deficiencies in reports (P&L, FSA visits, POAs) or audits / DM visits.
- Maintain accurate inventories following OBWs / SOPs (receiving inventory, disposal of expired products); address customer complaints and resolve issues to ensure excellent customer experience.
- Keep the Pharmacy area well maintained and compliant with 6S standards; ensure proper appearance and a clean environment for associates and patients.
- Cascade communication from the SSC to all Pharmacy associates and OTC; execute programs assigned by the Professional Services team.
- Develop and establish collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, community).
- Ensure Pharmacy is open and operational during posted business hours; supervise and support the OTC manager in daily duties; locate and stock merchandise as needed.
- Establish strong working relationships with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
- Accept prescriptions and / or refill requests from Customers, Doctors, or Hospitals; ensure prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely; counsel patients on pharmaceutical products.
- Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products; follow OBWs / SOPs and protect patient privacy; follow provincial regulations; ensure eligible services (medication reviews, injections, etc.) are provided to meet patient needs.
- Operate all pharmacy equipment (register, computer system, etc.).
