Adecco is recruiting for a highly qualified individual to join our esteemed client, a member of the Assembly of First Nations, as a permanent, full-time Maintenance and Operations Manager in Gold River, BC. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive project management services for a variety of public works projects. These services encompass the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to implementation, in alignment with our client's objectives. Additionally, this role entails providing valuable support to the Housing department and overseeing housing projects as required, alongside maintenance duties for a recently renovated hotel.   • Pay Rate : $95,000 - $105,000 / hour

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Develop complete project plans and budgets outlining the key steps, milestones and decision phases required through to project completion.
  • Obtain resources to deliver programs by developing and submitting proposals to appropriate funding agencies.
  • Supervise the preparation of conceptual and schematic design reports and documentation.
  • Prepare capital project contracts for tender, obtain competitive construction bids and review construction claims when stages of completion are done to support claims submitted.
  • Oversee and project manage the construction, renovation and repairing of buildings and other facilities owned by the nation including planning capital project construction schedules, supervising construction foremen and monitoring quality, ensuring blueprints are followed, overseeing, or ensuring cleanup of work sites, overseeing compliance with WCB regulations, and ensuring all required inspections are completed and permits obtained and approved.
  • Direct and manage the completion of the overall project so that actions, changes, and disbursements are documented and remaining within the allocated budgets
  • Maintain contact with consulting engineers and contractors regarding capital projects. Investigate a variety of complaints in situations where field checks are necessary. Prepare detailed project status reports for all.
  • Prepare post construction and evaluation reports as well as detailed project completion reports and annual project reports.
  • Handle the overall responsibility of the maintenance department, including Capacity Building of staff.
  • Coordinate and participate in Housing Committee meetings, determine housing allocations with committee members and assist with tenant mediation.
  • Requirements and Qualifications :

  • Completion of Grade XII with post-secondary education leading to one of the following : Registration as an Engineering Technologist (RET) or Provincial Equivalent Interprovincial Trades Certification with Red Seal Diploma in a Building Technology program or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a combination of education, training, and practical experience, preferably including work with First Nations communities.
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated experience in budgeting and management.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
  • Clear criminal record.
  • Legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
