What you will be doing :
Reporting to the Executive Chef, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :
Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow ColleaguesFollow departmental policies, procedures and service standardsSupervise preparation and service all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standardsLead a team to produce the highest quality of food preparation and presentationMaintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage / spoilageMaintain a working environment where creativity, continuous improvement, and constructive criticism are the standardSeek opportunities to increase food revenue and decrease kitchen expense and maximize departmental productivity without compromising our guests satisfactionAssign daily duties to ColleaguesEnsure storeroom requisitions are accurateCo-ordinate functions for timely set up and deliveryProvide fast and efficient guests services and respond quickly to all guests’ requestsHandle guest allergy concerns with appropriate care and importanceHave full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotionsEnsure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipmentAdhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehiclesFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageOther duties as assignedQualifications
Your experience and skills include :
Minimum 4 years well rounded experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel or reputable restaurant requiredInternal growth position : Required competencies shown are as follows – 6 to 8 month stint leading the staff café, menu rotation and creation, product maintenance, accurate recipe creation and following, positive internal guest feedback during this timeValid Journeypersons’ papers or equivalent requiredDiploma or Certification to a culinary program requiredSuccessful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler CertificationSupervisory experience an assetCertificate of completion on an intermediate level foodservice handling course is requiredValid Alberta driver’s license requiredExcellent Knife skills and safe handling requiredHighly energetic individual who is excited about the challenges that a large and very versatile resort demands on a day to day basisExcellent communication and organizational skillsAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesYour team and working environment :
