Your tasks
As an Electromechanical Technician , you will become a valuable member of our local maintenance team and you will be responsible for assisting, maintaining and repairing various systems and components of a funicular railway as well as an aerial bi-cable ropeway.
The maintenance work will be performed at the beautiful Niagara Parks for the touristic attractions such as the « Falls Incline Railway » and the legendary « Whirlpool Aero Car » and more.
Summary of tasks
Daily “on site” support to the operators and supervisor of Niagara Park CommissionMaintain machines, mechanical and electromechanical systems of the ropeway (PLC / PSS control systems with electronic communication systems)Inspect the equipment daily and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issuesConduct daily inspection prior and after the public operationsConduct repairs aiming for maximum reliabilityTroubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely mannerPerform thorough corrective and preventive maintenance, equipment and systemsPerform monthly, bi-annual & annual preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment and control systems as well as periodic load test and visual inspectionsProvide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measuresUndertake other duties as assigned (e.g. repair mechanical and hydraulic systems, painting, maintain vehicles, clean electronic components, inspect ropes, apply lubricants to machinery components, etc.)Keep logs of work and report on issuesWork Schedule
Standard work day at Niagara is 8 to 10 hours per day based on an established schedule. Work must also be performed on weekends or during the evening on rotation basis based on the seasons needs.

Education and qualifications
Electromechanical, Electronic or Automation Technician College Diploma or equivalent trainingFew years of experience in a similar role is requiredValid Ontario Ski Lift Mechanic Certification (Ontario SLM) (an asset)Skills and experience
Good understanding of PLC, relay logic control systems, AC and DC power equipment’sAbility and willingness to learn proprietary electrical drawing softwareMechanical aptitudes and experiencesAptitude in using various hand tools and precision measurement tools (e.g. calipers)Ability and training to work at heights and mechanical environmentsAbility to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.Strong commitment to all health and safety guidelinesFall arrest certification (an asset)Excellent communication skillsProblem-solving abilityExcellent physical strength and staminaOther
