Our client, a major student cooperative with over 17,500 members, is seeking a General Manager. The cooperative, present in several higher education institutions, is dedicated to socio-economic engagement and the promotion of cooperative principles.
Job Description :
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors, the General Manager will be responsible for :
- Operations Management : Overseeing and controlling the cooperative’s affairs, managing its assets and property, and ensuring the proper management of funds and accounting records.
- Compliance and Security : Ensuring adherence to policies and budgets, protecting against risks (fire, theft, etc.), and overseeing all business activities.
- Human Resources Management : Supervising and evaluating staff in accordance with labor standards, and preparing annual budget forecasts.
- Communication and Representation : Representing the cooperative to various stakeholders, maintaining relationships with the school cooperative network, and participating in Board meetings and other committees.
- Reporting and Documentation : Preparing the annual report, suggesting organizational improvements, and preparing documents required by the Board of Directors.
Skills and qualifications :
5 years of management experience, preferably in a cooperative or non-profit organization.Ability to lead a team and make ethical decisions.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency in project and multi-task management.Strong understanding of financial and human resources practices.Ability to maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.Proficiency with management and accounting tools.
