Job descriptionLead and manage yard operations and staff Works with the Regional Manager and VP, Operations to set annual budget for the yard, taking into account : equipment condition; environmental necessities; operational needs; business growth. proactively identifies and pursues new business prospects for company and develop existing relationships to achieve growth in volume and market share. Oversees environmental, health & safety programs and processes to create a safe environment for all employees, customers and visitors. Measures and reports service and operational data and partners with corporate subject matter experts to enhance key performance measures. Set and manage annual budgets in collaboration with senior leadership Drive business development and customer growth Ensure compliance with environmental, health & safety standards Oversee HR functions including training and performance management Implement continuous improvement initiatives Collaborate with other locations and corporate teams to expand services 5+ years in operations / distribution management, including team leadership 3+ years managing a profit center Adept at sales and business development and proven ability to win new customers and accounts. Experience with continuous improvement programs Proficiency in MS Office and business software Scrap metal industry experience is an asset Post-secondary education in a related field is an asset Entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative spirit

About the Role
We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead operations at our facility in Fort Saint John. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, you’ll oversee all aspects of the site’s performance, lead a dedicated team, and drive business growth through exceptional customer service and operational excellence.
