XNRGY Climate Systems is a North American leader in sustainable design and advanced manufacturing of custom air‑handling systems, focused on research and energy development to help reduce the carbon footprint. The company is seeking a Commercial Controller to join its St‑Hubert team and report to the Corporate Controller. The role supports the financial leadership team and oversees the entire sales cycle from quotation to cash collection.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the quotation process (including bids), analyze quotes, ensure margin consistency, and manage approval tracking.
- Act as liaison between sales, engineering, and plant to validate Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Monitor and analyze the commercial pipeline and backlog to ensure data integrity and forecast reliability.
- Serve as the interface between Sales, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Plant teams to synchronize information and commitments.
Customer Orders and Execution
Control order entry in the ERP system and ensure compliance with signed contracts. Verify consistency between customer contract, order, technical changes, milestones, and invoicing.Supervise invoicing, disputes, cash collection, and accounts‑receivable data quality.Analyze average collection period (DSO), aging, disputes, customer deposits, and forecast cash inflows based on milestones.Assess customer collection risks.Monitor and validate sales commissions.Reporting, Analysis, and Forecasting
Produce dashboards and regular analyses by client, region, segment, and product.Track commercial and operational KPIs (margins, pipeline / backlog conversion, timelines, performance).Participate in monthly forecasts for sales, backlog, and cash‑in.Analyze forecast versus actual variances in collaboration with sales teams.Contract Analysis & Commercial Governance
Analyze new contracts to identify potential accounting impacts.Monitor high‑risk contractual conditions.Implement a standard contract review process, including financial clauses, incoterms, milestones, retention, and penalties.Ensure commercial compliance in ERP / CRM.Monitor tax obligations (Canada & USA) : sales taxes, exemptions, certificates, documentation, in collaboration with tax advisors.Commercial Data Governance
Responsible for commercial data in ERP / CRM : customers, projects, BOM, and quotes.Improve master data quality, reduce errors, and standardize practices.Tools, Systems, and Continuous Improvement
Build and optimize tools and processes in a hyper‑growth environment.Collaborate with IT / ERP / CRM teams on functional improvements, workflows, dashboards, and automation.Contribute to establishing a robust and agile internal control environment adapted to rapid growth.Management and Leadership
Supervise the accounts‑receivable and credit‑management team (billing, collections, credit, dispute management, monthly closing, customer relations).Participate in deploying credit insurance and factoring programs.Qualifications
Technical Skills
3 to 7 years of experience in commercial controlling, business controlling, FP&A sales, or industrial finance.Understanding of the full Order‑to‑Cash cycle and its operational and financial impact.Proficiency with ERP systems (Epicor, BC365, SAP, etc.) and CRM.Interest in automation and analytical tools.Knowledge of accounting standards, particularly IFRS 15 / US GAAP revenue recognition.Knowledge of Canadian / US sales taxes.Fluency in French and English required.Behavioral Skills
