About the Role :

Our key client is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Senior Risk Manager. In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will be instrumental in shaping and executing a robust risk management framework that safeguards our business while fostering innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Champion a Culture of Risk Awareness : Cultivate a proactive and data-driven risk culture across the organization.
  • Develop and Implement Cutting-Edge Strategies : Design and implement innovative risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures that leverage global best practices and adapt them to the unique demands of the Canadian market.
  • Oversee Regulatory Compliance : Ensure strict adherence to all applicable Canadian securities regulations, including proactive management of audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Drive Operational Excellence : Continuously enhance risk management processes and technologies to optimize operational efficiency, minimize risk exposure, and maximize business opportunities.
  • Lead and Mentor a High-Performing Team : Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of risk professionals, fostering their professional development and creating a collaborative and engaging work environment.
  • Strategic Partnerships : Collaborate closely with senior management, business partners, and regulatory bodies to identify and mitigate emerging risks and capitalize on new market opportunities.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making : Leverage data analytics and insights to inform risk assessments, identify potential issues, and drive proactive risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications :

  • At least 8 years' proven track record of success in risk management within the financial services industry, with a strong preference for experience in the brokerage sector.
  • Deep understanding of Canadian securities regulations, including CIRO margin rules.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A highly analytical and results-oriented mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.
