Civil Engineer - Kingston area

One of our top partners in the Electric Vehicle space is preparing to build a facility that will be a crucial part of Canada’s Electric Vehicle (EV) supply chain in Kingston area.

Our client is looking for a Civil Engineer who will be responsible for the developing and managing the technical standards in support of the construction and installation of the new assets in the new facility.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Project Managers and assign the needed Civil Engineers for each project.
• Ensure the Civil Engineering responsibilities are executed within scope and according to the planning and budget.
• Liaise with contractors for a safe execution of the project and ensure timelines are being respected.
• Detect roadblocks and take corrective actions.
• Manage risk, change of scope and work assigned to team members.
• Perform / Support commissioning of the equipments before handing over to the Process Team.
• Performs assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner following the instructions and compliance with EHS policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education
• 5+ years of technical experience in execution of large scale engineering projects.
• 2+ years of experience working in similar role and good understanding of industrial installations.
• Knowledge of EHS Standards and industry best practices
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Exemplary behavior towards ethics and integrity and ability to build strong relationships
• Good working knowledge of MS Office
