Title : Customs Specialist

Industry : Freight Forwarding

Location : Montreal

Specializing in the Freight Forwarding industry with over 30 years in the industry, currently expanding the Customs Brokerage department.

Looking for an individual with 5+ years in customs, preferable in customs brokerage setting. Experience with HS Codes and high value shipments is preferred!

Responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the Customs department with a variety of tasks that include (but not limited to) :

Open customer files, data entry, validate information, verify credit and invoice

Obtain additional information or documents from customers, suppliers, carriers, customs agents and others

Identify changes to profiles and advise intermediate or senior underwriter

Communicate regularly, answering basic questions from customers, carriers and border agents

Maintain and update tariff database, ensure accuracy

HS codes

Qualifications

5 years of similar experience in Customs

Exceptional customer service skills

Knowledge of HS codes and Tariff codes

Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Bilingualism, French and English (very important)
