Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a large corporation to hire an experienced leader to take on the role of Senior Manager, Accounts Payable for a two-year contract to be based in Ottawa, ON.
This role will involve overseeingall aspects of Accounts Payable, leading a team of 15 administrators and analysts. Your focus will be on efficiently managing end-to-end Accounts Payable operations.

Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage daily operations of the Accounts Payable section, providing leadership, direction, motivation, and training to ensure performance and service quality are maintained.
- Plan and organize efficient operations of SSC Financial Services activities, including Accounts Payables, Financial delegations, Corporate credit card programs, and Virtual Payment programs, monitoring performance and adherence to accounting principles.
- Implement adequate practices, processes, and controls to safeguard corporate assets.
- Analyze financial information to support the Director of SSC Financial Services.
- Develop and propose initiatives to optimize the delivery of SSC Financial Services to employees and management across the Corporation.
- Contribute as a key member of the senior management team within the SSC Department.
- Implement process controls to minimize the risk of human error or fraud that could lead to significant errors or losses.
- Ensure compliance with testing requirements and maintain documentation of test results.
- Regularly generate multiple reports, including payment cycles, outstanding invoices, vendor performance, audit outcomes, and others as required.
- Occasional Travel.
Qualifications :
- Possess a professional accounting designation (CGA, CMA, or CA preferred), or be in the final year of a recognized program.
- Three to five years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.
- Experience supervising and managing staff for 2-3 years.
- Proficiency in SAP software with familiarity in other software packages for reporting and project delivery.
- Mandatory bilingual proficiency.
- Advanced skills in Excel and general reporting.
- Ability to recommend best practices within the sector.
- Capable of developing optimization strategies in collaboration with departmental directors.
- Preferably holds a credit card program management designation.
