Lead Programmer – Tactic Studios

We are seeking an experienced Lead Programmer to manage a team of seasoned programmers for an unannounced multiplayer, third-person game. Candidates should have a proven track record of leading large programming teams on complex, multi‑year projects for the latest generation of consoles.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of programmers, assigning tasks, reviewing code, and providing clear direction to meet project needs.
• Collaborate with the technical director to establish and implement high‑level architecture decisions for our proprietary game engine.
• Research academic papers and emerging technologies to advance our engine.
• Design, implement, and maintain bug‑free multiplayer code that meets design requirements.
• Debug, optimize, and modify code to uphold quality, readability, and reliability standards.
• Review, playtest, and verify code to ensure correctness, robustness, and fun.
• Collaborate with designers and artists to create functional, easy‑to‑use engine and game systems.
• Coordinate with external partners and represent the company technically as needed.
