Sr Cloud Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer

As a key member of our Engineering team, you’ll help us architect, design, implement and monitor our cloud and server environments while being a consistent advocate and mentor for devops initiatives.

The Position
As a LogiSense Senior Cloud Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer you’ll do more than build and deploy infrastructure you’ll become an expert in understanding the LogiSense platform and how our clients interface with our systems.
You will have opportunities to change and influence how we develop and deploy our infrastructure, as well as direct control over how our cloud environments are governed and maintained.
You will contribute directly to the growing capabilities of our industry-leading billing platform.

Be Good At :
- Applying : Your 5+ years experience with AWS core services : EC2, S3, VPC, Load Balancers, CloudTrail. Experience with CloudFront, Lambda, and SSM is a strong asset;
- 5+ years of experience with Linux web application servers such as nginx; 5+ years of experience with Docker containers on Linux;
5+ years experience with Microsoft Windows Server, IIS and SQL Server; 5+ years of experience with Terraform and Ansible
Implementing : Your strong knowledge of of both logical and physical web architecture best practices; Your experience troubleshooting networking environment as they relate to infrastructure;
Your experience managing Linux servers; Your experience working with CI / CD and related automation
- Driving adoption of cloud hosting standards and industry best practices
- Mentoring members of the systems administration team as well as external teams
- Developing and document our cloud infrastructure and new technical solutions
- Displaying your experience working with infrastructure monitoring platforms
- Demonstrating your working knowledge of SQL, JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket / Git, Docker and Kubernetes
- Investigating and troubleshooting day-to-day performance issues
- Assessing and analyzing our cloud environments and make recommendations for automation improvements, efficiency improvements, or cost savings opportunities
- Working with pre-sales solution architects to ensure that proposed solution designs are compatible with operational standards
- Leading the evaluation, recommendation, and adoption of cloud security, monitoring, and automation products
- Being Proficient with Python, PowerShell or similar scripting languages
- Assisting in the installation and configuration of LogiSense suite of applications
- Being responsible for projects which may occur outside standard business hours
- Maintaining security by ensuring compliance to corporate standards, policies, and procedures
- Having a basic understanding of PCI and SOC compliance requirements
- Identifying and implementing automation improvements, increasing the speed of delivery for both corporate and production workloads
- Participating in the on-call rotation with other members of the technical operations team
- Participating in, and sometimes leading incident response
- Participating in system audits as needed
- Demonstrating your passion for technology and unwavering willingness to learn using your laser sharp attention to detail
- Displaying your ability to be highly motivated, a self starter, and having a driven personality with proven task management, written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrating your ability to thrive in a fast paced work environment with shifting priorities while maintaining composure under pressure
Bonus points for :
- A professional-level certification ( AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer, CNCF Kubestronaut), or other industry relevant certifications
- Working experience of containers (e.g. Docker; Kubernetes; Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS) and related concepts
- Working experience with Terraform, New Relic, Sumo Logic, CrowdStrike, Rundeck, Ansible, Jenkins
- Working experience with the software development life cycle & best practices (CI / CD, source control, etc.)
- Working knowledge of .NET, C#, Node.js
- Familiarity with RabbitMQ or other message brokers
- Familiarity with Kanban framework / practices
- Familiarity with industry technology including Billing, VoIP, Wireless, Hosted Communications, M2M
