  • Field Operations Lead - Contractor
  • Position Title Operations Field Lead

  • Purpose

    • The Operations Field Lead is for Project operating focal point for Carbon Capture project portfolio.
    • The Operations Field lead supports safe, and efficient field execution of the project. The role will require the
    • individual to support construction and maintenance through owning responsibilities of design and execution of

      cleaning plans associated with the project.

    • This is a projected 2 yr position (potential for extension to 3yr) dependent on project deliverables and milestones.
    • Support field construction, cleaning procedure development and execution, commissioning, pre-op and start-up of
    • project facilities.

      Required Skills :

    • Background in Production, at least 10 years of experience.
    • Minimum 4th class power engineering certificate or equivalent.
    • Preference for individuals with Hydrogen Manufacturing, CCS, Steam Boiler and Water Treatment operating
    • experience.

    • Previous commissioning or turnaround planning roles would be an asset
    • Demonstrated evidence of Enterprise-First values and behaviors will be also considered during the selection process
    • Dimensions

    • 4x10 schedule but may change based on project requirements (i.e. up to 6x12). Additional hours are expected closer
    • to final construction completion and CSU.

    • Extra hours may be required based on workload and project need. All accumulated hours outside of the base
    • schedule will be compensated at the contracted rate.

    • Able to functionally support the Construction Project Team / CSU team with demonstrated ability to integrate with a
    • strong networking tie to the Production Specialists and site-specific disciplines supporting the project.

    • Role does not include direct reports but will be required to coordinate with multiple departments and permitting
    • areas across the site.

    • This position reports to Production Specialist.
    • Accountability and Expectations :

      HSSE General

    • Assist in resolving field coordination / constructability issues with project construction team, production, and safety.
    • Issue safe work permits for field construction activities as required.
    • Expected to be a visible safety leader and model core values. Conduct Safety Walks and STEP observations on project
    • construction fieldwork and communicate findings / results to construction / project group.

    • Learning From Incident, Causal Learning participation in Incident Investigations as needed.
    • General :

    • Ops Focal for all CSU activities in assigned area. Includes planning and leading field activities to support cleaning and
    • commissioning.

    • Participating in PSSR activities
    • Ability to issue Hot / Cold / Confined Space Entry / Ground Disturbance / Critical Lift Permits
    • Support Fire Protection Authorization / Impairments / Maintenance Overrides
    • Support PS with procedure development where required
    • Isolation List / Markup Development
    • Equipment prep / decontamination strategies
    • Field execution optimization (Look for opportunities to streamline)
    • Manage a working log of area construction activities
    • Strong ability to communicate with construction team, Production Team Member’s and other Production Stakeholders
    • Operating Procedures / Training :

    • Support the development of commissioning project packages (Procedures and marked up PFD’s)
    • Development / updating of operational procedures, checklist, Car-seal list, cap & plug list, etc.
    • Develop CSU cleaning packages and procedures to ensure cleanliness of project prior to handover to the asset and
    • ready for SU

    • Participate in various FAT / SAT as required.
    • Special Challenges :

    • The key challenge is managing the interfaces with Engineering – Project, Construction, and the affected Production
    • organizations.

    • The role will involve a balancing of wants versus needs from both the Operations customers and the Project
    • Management Team. Strong change management mindset is required.

    • Position will work closely with Unifor Local 530A production team members
    • Beneficial Skills :
