About the Role
The Department of Accounting and Finance in the Bissett School of Business at MRU invites applications for a tenure-track position in Finance with the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence on July 01, 2024, depending on the selected candidate’s availability.
The selected individual will be hired into the Teaching-Service (TS) work pattern. The TS work pattern focuses on teaching (the equivalent of eight (8) three-hour classes per academic year) and providing academic service at the department, faculty, and university levels. The selected candidate is required to teach four core courses of the Canadian Institute of Financial Planning (CIFP), including Retirement Planning, Income Tax Planning, Strategic Investment Planning, Risk Management and Estate Planning. In addition to these courses, the candidate will be expected to teach introductory and advanced-level courses in Finance.
The successful candidate will become an integral member of our finance team and contribute meaningfully to departmental priorities and activities, particularly in the financial services concentration. As MRU considers developing industry connections a critical part of our programs, the selected candidate will be required to actively liaise with industry partners and professional associations on behalf of the Department and the Bissett School of Business.
