Job Description
Job Title.
MyEdBC Support & Training
Location
Fort Langley, BC (On-site, no telecommuting)
Who We Are
We work for the Independent Schools of BC (FISABC) providing training and support for a student information system called MyEdBC. MyEdBC is used by most schools in the province to track student demographics, attendance, produce report cards, and report data to the BC Ministry of Education. Our teams role is to provide ongoing training and support to the front office users (ie. secretaries, principals and vice principals) to assist them in using the software on a day to day basis. We do not do any programming or software configuration or hardware management of the system, our team is solely responsible for the training and supporting users to use the software in their school.
What does a typical day look like?
We are a small team of 3 people who work out of an office in Fort Langley. On a typical day we will be answering phone calls from front office school users about how to use some aspect of the MyEdBC software (for instance how to reset a password or run the report cards). School users are more likely to submit a ticket to our helpdesk system which we reply to either through the helpdesk or we may set up a quick zoom session so that we can walk them step by step through the process to solve their question using desktop sharing. For instance we may share their desktop so that we can show them which buttons to click to run a report. During slower times of the year we will lead online training sessions with groups of school users via zoom to demonstrate to new users how to do a particular task in MyEdBC.
