Job Description

Job Title.

MyEdBC Support & Training

Location

Fort Langley, BC (On-site, no telecommuting)

Who We Are

We work for the Independent Schools of BC (FISABC)  providing training and support for a student information system called MyEdBC. MyEdBC is used by most schools in the province to track student demographics, attendance, produce report cards, and report data to the BC Ministry of Education. Our teams role is to provide ongoing training and support to the front office users (ie. secretaries, principals and vice principals) to assist them in using the software on a day to day basis.  We do not do any programming or software configuration or hardware management of the system, our team is solely responsible for the training and supporting users to use the software in their school.

What does a typical day look like?

We are a small team of 3 people who work out of an office in Fort Langley. On a typical day we will be answering phone calls from front office school users about how to use some aspect of the MyEdBC software (for instance how to reset a password or run the report cards). School users are more likely to submit a ticket to our helpdesk system which we reply to either through the helpdesk or we may set up a quick zoom session so that we can walk them step by step through the process to solve their question using desktop sharing. For instance we may share their desktop so that we can show them which buttons to click to run a report. During slower times of the year we will lead online training sessions with groups of school users via zoom to demonstrate to new users how to do a particular task in MyEdBC.

Essential Duties :

  • You will help provide solutions to questions that school users have about MyEdBC  via either our helpdesk, email, phone, or via desktop sharing in zoom.
  • You will lead personalized one-on-one training and support sessions via Zoom with school staff.
  • You will deliver group training workshops (both online and small in-person sessions) on various topics like how to take attendance, or registering students, or doing report cards in MyEdBC.
  • You will contribute to our knowledge base and training materials that are used by schools.

Experiences Requested :

While prior usage of MyEdBC or experience with the school system is helpful, it is not required, we will provide all the training you require to provide training and support of MyEdBC. Our team works very collaboratively to solve our school users' questions.

However there are some key traits we are looking for :

  • The ability to clearly and patiently explain step-by-step how to solve issues, whether you're speaking to one person or a group. Previous training or teaching experience is very useful.
  • You are an excellent, empathetic, clear, and professional communicator in both written and spoken English.
  • You enjoy getting a problem that you have never seen before and think logically through the problem to test potential solutions until a solution has been found. Must be willing to try ideas, fail, think of a new idea, and keep working until a useful solution has been found, or a manageable workaround has been found.
  • A calm, patient, and positive attitude is essential. You will be working with the same school users multiple times so the ability to form a connection to understand their needs is important.
  • You are comfortable in a digital environment and proficient with tools like Windows, Google Workspace and Microsoft Excel. No programming skills are required.
  • Working with Us

This is a permanent, part-time position with a consistent schedule of  Monday to Friday, 10 : 00 AM - 2 : 00 PM (with some flexibility) . We offer 2 weeks of paid vacation plus the  option for unpaid time off during the Christmas break, Spring Break, and the month of July if you wish.  (Ideal schedule for individuals with school-aged children)

Compensation :   Starting wage of $27 per hour.

    How to Apply :

This position is scheduled to begin Febuary 2026, however we are flexible to accommodate the right candidate's transition from their current role.

Please complete our brief application form here :

We will be accepting applications until 15th January 2026

Resumes will be requested from candidates invited to interviews.
