Role Description

This part‑time on‑site role is based in Courtenay, BC, and is designed for Ski Coaches and Ski Professionals passionate about mentoring and developing athletes in Alpine Skiing and Alpine Ski Racing. Responsibilities include planning and leading skill development sessions, coaching individuals and groups on technical skiing techniques, ensuring safety practices, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment. The role involves active engagement with athletes, monitoring their progress, and promoting teamwork and fair play.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Alpine Ski Coaching, Skiing Techniques, and effective lesson planning
• Experience in mentoring young athletes and fostering skill development in sports
• Strong communication, leadership skills, and a positive attitude
• Commitment to promoting safety and adhering to best practices on the slopes
• Relevant certifications in professional ski instruction or coaching (e.g., Level 1 or higher) are highly desirable
• Experience in ski racing or previous involvement with competitive skiing is a plus
• Adaptability to work in an outdoor environment and the ability to inspire and motivate athletes
