We are seeking a reliable and experienced Licensed Class 1 Shunt Driver to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating heavy-duty trucks, shunt vehicles, experience in B trains with excellent driving skills, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
This role involves moving trucks and trailers within our yard and between our facility and various locations.
Responsibilities: Safely operate Class 1 vehicles and shunt trucks to move trailers and heavy-duty trucks within the yard and to designated locations.
Inspect vehicles before and after use to ensure they are in good working condition.
Accurately log and report any maintenance or repair needs.
Adherent to all safety protocols and transportation regulations.
Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely and efficient movement of vehicles.
Assist with yard organization and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to facilitate smooth operations.
Work with the mechanics as time permits Requirements: Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a shunt driver or in a similar role.
Must be able to operate Standard Transmission Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck and trailer operations.
B Train experience an asset Ability to maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces safely.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
